Dr. Beatriz Villarreal from the Mano a Mano Foundation is presenting "Parents Learning to be Better Parents," which is a skills-building program that helps face the difficult task of raising loving and responsible youngsters. The program specifically focuses on the challenges facing parents today, like drugs, gangs, communication, self-esteem, violence, and discipline. This program stresses the importance of loving communication within families. The six-week program is open to all parents in the district and will take place at Farr Elementary School between January 15th and February 9th. Workshops are from 5:30-7:30 pm. The workshop will be presented in Spanish only. Enero 15- En la Educación esta el Poder. Enero 22- Comunicación efectiva con su adolescente y su familia. Enero 29- La verdad sobre las drogas: Marijuana/VAPING/Fentanilo. Febrero 5- Bullying: educacion y prevención del acoso. Febrero 12- Salud Mental: ansiedad, depresion, manejo del estres. Pioneer Elementary PTA is proud to present: "Inside Out 2" Friday, November 8, 2024. Gates open at 4:30 pm. Admission is only $1.00 donation per person. The movie will begin promptly at 5:00 PM! Snacks, candy, and drinks will be sold for only $1.00 each! This movie is an outdoor family event on the blacktop. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Pioneer Elementary Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days 2024 Theme: Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug-Free! Monday, October 28th: Wear Red Day - wear something red to show your support! Tuesday, October 29th: Peace Out to Drugs - wear tie dye or sunglasses. Wednesday, October 30th: Team Up Against Drugs - wear your favorite sports shirt or jersey. Thursday, October 31: Our School Chooses to be Drug Free! - wear your Puma shirt, puma colors (purple, blue and white) or a costume. Friday, November 1st: Mystery Day: wear black.

Thanksgiving Food Drive! Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive. The Pioneer School PTA is holding a food drive to create baskets that some families at our school will receive for the Thanksgiving celebration. Here are some ideas of what you could donate to help us: pasta, beans, rice, peanut butter, coffee, tuna, sugar, oatmeal, cereal, cookies, evaporated milk, crackers, marmalade, oil. Please deposit items in the containers located at the entrance doors. Consider bringing your donations no later than November 8 so we can deliver the baskets on time. Thank you!
